The photo shoot was photographed by Tom Munro, and took place at Bayfront Park, Miami. The ad agency is AR in New York City. Barbara Berger and Noah Mills were the models. Some of my images were printed up to 15x30 feet and placed as backdrops for the shoot. The resulting photographs are central to the summer 2008 Banana Republic catalog, as well as marketing material, The Gap, Inc annual report and other internal documents.
After the photo shoot was completed, I was contacted to see if I was interested in licensing additional images for their in-store art program. You bet. I am flattered to have some of my favorite photographs placed in 450 stores around the world. The offical opening of the summer season is apparently May 22, however you might be able to see the images in the stores before the 22nd.
You can see the thirteen images here.
I will be attenting one of the LUXE events in a few weeks for the opening of the summer 2008 season, and I plan on coming back with some photographs from the evening.

Andy,
Wow! I am really happy for you!15 by 30 feet?! These are 1Ds files?
Amazing they can blow them up that big.
Best regards,
Giedo
Wow Andy - Congratulations on having your beautiful images used as a backdrop for Banana Republic's summer campaign! The serenity and natural mystery that you've captured in your photos is really breathtaking; the compositions are so elegant. The play on your images and the knowing nod towards the (original) Banana Republic aesthetic also feels very modern to me.
Barbara looks so chic and Noah Mills is one of the hottest male models right now (and one of my favorites) so the art direction here is really killer! I may even be persuaded to go back into the stores just to have a look around!
Thank you for all of your kind comments, everyone. I am certainly thrilled. Many people have been emailing me over the past few days, indicating that these images are now starting to show up in stores. I will be sure to take a few photos when I stop by a store sometime soon.
Giedo, these images are reproduced so small in the end that it doesn't take much to enlarge images to those sizes. Yes, many of the images are from my 1DsMkII or newer, but a few are from older 6mp, 8mp and 10mp cameras. I have moved to medium format digital lately, and hope to be able to create larger and larger reproductions.
Your prints turned out fabulous Andy. Our print facility also printed about 100 glossy prints of various images and they were stunning. I hope we have the opportunity to print more of your photography in the future.
Great Photography!

Thank you for posting, Bob! Glad to hear that they were printed responisbily and with someone who cares. You never know what can happen to images after the licensing contracts have been signed and all control is over.
:-)
Congrats Andy! It's awesome to see wildlife go mainstream. I'm really glad your at the forefront of what will hopefully become common place among advertising and pr campaigns.
Andy,
I was walking by Banana Republic here in San Antonio last night and had the opportunity to see your images first hand. Congratulations.
Fabulous pictures !
I pick up two of your post cards that was available at BR store in Canada but I was sorry to not have the full collection.
Your 2 post cards are now in a black frame into my office, you have no idea how many nice comments I received about those frames. Again : beautiful pictures, you are a one of a kind photographer !!!
